THE HOST PROJECT 2010-ES-94 “obre’t’ebre Interculturality”
The volunteers collaborate in the realization of the projects of the
association, for example: organizing youth exchanges or workcamps,
establishing contacts with new partners from other countries,
organizing the cycle of talks in schools… but they can also develop
their own projects for young people of the Terres de l'Ebre. The
volunteers help to develop materials to improve the EVS quality (like
city guides), but also things that, from their point of view, can
improve the work done by the association. Through the European
volunteers, obre’t’ebre collaborates with other associations of Tortosa:
Collaboration with Atzavara-Arrels
In 2008 and in 2009, Ruqaya and Umran worked part time in
Atzavara-Arrels,
Association for the Cooperation between Cultures and
the Insertion of Persons at risk of Exclusion,
where they organized activities for children and youngsters,
support classes, English and computer lessons, handicrafts workshops...
and also
helped to give information to the newcomers that come to the center.
Collaboration with the Red Cross Youth
In 2007, we hosted a volunteer from Austria, who collaborated in the
project “Hospitalized Kids Care”, which is part of the actions of
prevention and promotion of youngsters' quality of life by the Red
Cross Youth. She realized school support and leisure time
activities for the hospitalized kids, who were waiting for diagnosis
or treatment for short or long term diseases.
Collaboration with the Centre Obert Sant Francesc
In 2006, Niki and Paula offered support classes and language classes in
the Sant Francesc Center, organisation that depends on the City Council
of Tortosa, where the kids mainly come from the district of El Rastre.
